Luandese march for environmental protection

Citizens of the southern African country Angola, participated in an official march to show their support and wish for environmental protection of their country in the city’s capital, Luanda.  The Angola Press reported that the Angola Ministry of Environment supported the environmental orientated march. The theme of the march: Live the Present, Preserve the Future, Protect the Environment.

Environmental awareness among the majority of the African population has traditionally received less priority, with socio-economic pressures often taking priority over environmental matters.  Public environmental support as noted in Luanda over the past weekend is thus of high significance. Efforts like these can very well contribute to real change for the African continent.
